Because there are so many possibilities to choose from, you must purchase separately the keys for the top row and for the left side block in the shop. They are not included, regardless of which key set you configure here. By ordering this item you agree that you have read and understand this. The reason these are separate is because there are so many options to consider: transparent relegendable keys, media keys, novelty keys, icon keys, blank unprinted keys, F13-F24 keys (top row), F1-F10 keys (left side block), and any other other custom keys on the Extra Keys page. The pictured keys are not all included with your keyboard.

A Brand New F122 Model F Keyboard with die cast metal (aluminum) case with a paint/powdercoating finish. All have painted/powdercoated aluminum metal cases, even though they were designed to look like the original IBM Model M cases which were made of plastic. I do not offer any plastic case Brand New Model F keyboards. As a note, the first couple images show a rendering of the F122 keyboard. All cases will be metal. It will be updated when the sample finishes production. The F122 is fully assembled except for you having to install the keys and keyboard feet, same as with all other keyboard models. The image rendering above is not how the keyboard will arrive to you! Please do check out the other items in the store, especially the First Aid Kit of spare parts for future repairs once production has long shut down (over 1000 kits ordered so far!), the brand new custom made solenoid and solenoid driver, controllers, key pullers, extra key sets (the key tops do wear down over time and you won’t be able to buy more XT quality one piece keys after the end of the project) and also a spare custom made 3 meter USB cable (same as the one that is installed with the keyboard). I hope to be able to manufacture as many First Aid Kits and spare parts as possible to keep all these great Model F keyboards running decades from now.

You will notice from the photos that the F122 retains the original IBM full size Model M case design and not the expanded case size of the original IBM F122 and M122. The main reasons for this are to keep the designs consistent (the F122, F104, and FSSK all are the same exact length from front to back, even though the F122 has an extra row) and also to allow the solenoid driver and solenoid to fit comfortably inside all 3 of the keyboards.

Important Notes: Please note that you are not buying from inventory for all M Style case products (Classic F104, Classic FSSK, Brand New F122). They are in production and are expected to ship to you over the coming months. Legal, safety, and limited warranty information for this MODEL F LABS LLC product is available to consumers pre-sale and will be furnished upon request, by writing to the email or mailing address at the bottom of this web page. Of course you’ll get a printed booklet with your order shipment! Some folks have outstanding orders such as a beam spring keyboard, Model F keyboard, or accessories. I have already paid the factory for these items and they are either in stock, in production, or have completed production and are on their way to me. Unfortunately I am unable to exchange or cancel any prior orders so that you can get one of these new offerings. Please don’t ask! No exceptions. LED overlays are to be installed by the end user – they are not factory installed.

Note on splitting keys: All keys are expected to be splittable thanks to the new Leyden Jar controller which has an 18×8 matrix.
Note on the photos: the photos show sample cases for the F122, F104, and FSSK keyboards – not just F104 keyboards. This product is not a reproduction of the 122-key IBM Model F keyboard. The layout is different, as you can see in the photos. The main difference is that the function key block is divided like the Model M 101 key keyboards instead of being bunched together like on the M122 and original F122.
