A note from the uploader: As far as I can tell, there is no other digital record for most of these episodes. I cobbled them together from VHS tapes my mother recorded off the TV for me as a kid. I have such incredibly fond memories of this series, it means so much to me. I was able to get in touch with the director and creator of the show, Michael Lekes, as well as Henry's voice actor, Eric Meyer, and they informed that, sadly, many of the episodes have been lost to time. This archive, as well as my private copies, represent the only surviving record for many of these. It is my wish that these episodes remain discoverable on this archive, so the responsibility of preservation does not lie solely with me, this show means too much to me on a personal level.

Amazing Animals(sometimes marketed asHenry's Amazing Animalsfor home video) is an American/British educational children's nature program produced byDorling Kindersleyand originally broadcast on theDisney Channelin 1996. It currently plays in syndication onTreehouse TVin Canada. A limited amount of episodes were released on VHS.
The show centers on the interactions of Henry the Lizard, a greenCGIanthropomorphicgeckowith purple spots, and an unseen narrator. Each episode centers on a theme relating to the episode's subject matter, such as Henry traveling through prehistory in a time machine in an episode about prehistoric animals. Henry is usually faced with some kind of predicament or work, always relating to the episode's theme, which he resolves by the end of the episode, often learning a lesson of some sort in the process.

As I am submitting my college applications, my mom and I have been reminiscing about all the things that fostered my love of learning and curiosity as a child and made me the person I am today. Henry is one of these influences, and while I remembered vivid details of the show I couldn't remember his name or the show! Thankfully the internet pulled through, but then when we found it was never released on DVD we feared it was gone forever. Thank you!
